Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire is acknowledged as the World Capital of Ceramics. Historically the North Staffordshire "Potteries" has been the foremost innovator and producer of ceramics and this tradition continues today with the names of yesteryear still the acclaimed global brands of today. Wedgwood, Royal Doulton and Spode are still the must have brands, but they are now joined by such names as Churchill, Steelite, Dudsons, Moorcroft, Portmeirion, Johnson Tiles and more recently Emma Bridgewater.  But tableware is not the only ceramic product from Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
