Spanish Automotive Manufacturer Creates 150 Jobs in Staffordshire

Spanish automotive manufacturer, Grupo Antolin have completed a deal with St Modwen for a further unit of 113,000 sq. ft. at Barton Business Park, Burton upon Trent. The 15 year lease increases Grupo Antolin’s manufacturing space on Barton Business Park to 183,000 sq. ft. and has created 150 jobs.

Ian Romano, Development Director at St. Modwen, said: “Grupo Antolin has been an occupier at Barton Business Park for 10 years and their expansion at Barton reinforces the strength of the automotive industry in the Midlands, which is a key market for us.

“It’s important to St. Modwen to help occupiers grow at our developments and we have worked with Grupo Antolin to create a facility to suit their needs for the foreseeable future.”

Robin Hills, General Manager at Grupo Antolin, said: “Since relocating from Bristol in 2006, the Barton facility has been awarded new and replacement business over a number of vehicle programmes and reached its full manufacturing capacity.

“Grupo Antolin has committed to a major investment at the Barton facility to take a new the lease on the adjoining plot from St. Modwen to consolidate future growth. Initially this will create an additional 150 positions within the business with further vehicle programmes planned in the next few years.”

Plans Submitted for Burton Gateway

St Modwen have announced  plans for almost 120,000 sq. ft. of industrial space at their Burton Gateway site on the A38.

Plans have been submitted to East Staffordshire Borough council for the construction of three units of 54,000 sq. ft., 40,000 sq. ft. and 25,000 sq. ft. ; all suitable for storage, distribution or general industrial use.

Phase 1 of this site was the construction of an 87,000 sq. ft. unit which has been let to Hellmann Worldwide Logistics on a ten-year lease.

Ian Romano, development director at St Modwen, said: “There is a lack of new employment space across the Midlands, and we are building speculatively at a number of our key developments to satisfy the growing need for high quality and well connected space.

“With outline planning consent for up to one million sq. ft. of commercial business space, it is our intention to speculatively build this next phase to accommodate demand from both national and local occupiers.”

Subject to planning permission, works are expected to start in January 2018, with units available from August 2018.

First Occupier Confirmed for Burton Gateway

St. Modwen has secured the first letting at Burton Gateway business park in Burton-on-Trent, one of the largest warehouse developments in the Midlands, providing 1m sq ft of industrial and distribution space.

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, global logistics experts, will become the first tenant at Burton Gateway. The company has taken a 10-year lease at the 87,716 sq ft unit, known as BG87, which was developed speculatively.

Previously a 280 acre wasteland site, St. Modwen carried out extensive highway works to support the regeneration of the area and, in turn, accelerate a key location for commercial and residential development, having worked with the local authority and key stakeholders.

Ian Romano, Development Director at St. Modwen, said: “The letting to Hellman Worldwide Logistics at Burton Gateway for their next distribution hub demonstrates the ongoing demand for logistics and distribution space in the Midlands area.

“We will shortly submit further planning applications for four more industrial units ranging from 25,000 sq ft up to 110,000 sq ft which will be available from Autumn 2018.”

Burton Gateway is strategically located adjacent to the A38 at the entrance to Burton-upon-Trent, with good links to the M42 and A50. Nearby occupiers include Pirelli, Unilever, Boots, Rolls Royce, Tesco and Toyota.

ST. MODWEN MARKS COMPLETION OF 87,000 SQ FT INDUSTRIAL UNIT AT BURTON GATEWAY

St. Modwen toasted the completion of BG87, the first speculatively-built warehouse at the 64 acre Burton Gateway commercial business park in Burton upon Trent, with a VIP event on the 14th April 2016.

The exclusive launch event was attended by representatives from East Midlands Chamber of Commerce and East Midlands Borough Council, who declared the building open with an official ribbon cutting.

In a nod to Burtonas brewing heritage, guests enjoyed a craft ale-infused breakfast before embarking on a tour of the expansive 87,716 sq ft unit. They also took away a keg of St. Modwenas aGateway Golda ale, sourced from locally-based brewers.

BG87 is the first warehouse to have been built at what is set to become one of largest industrial and warehouse developments in the Midlands, providing 1 million sq ft of industrial and distribution space.

St. Modwen, the UKas leading regeneration specialist, has recently submitted two further planning applications for two more industrial units offering 108,000 and 220,000 sq ft of warehouse space in the next phase.

Speculative Industrial Development at Burton Gateway

AA major new speculative industrial warehouse is being developed by St. Modwen in Burton-on-Trent. BG87A is a 87,000 sq ft warehouse which is due to be built by the end of the year.

BG 87 will be the first speculatively-built unit at St. Modwenas new Burton Gateway Industrial Park, where it has outline planning permission for up to 1 million sq ft of industrial units. This makes it one of largest industrial and warehouse developments in the Midlands, which is set to create up to 1,500 jobs.

Work Commences on Burton Gateway

Planning consent has been granted for a further 21,500 sq. m. of warehousing, distribution and general industrial units at Burton Gateway, south of Branston Interchange to the east of the A38. The site is a mixed use development with housing to the north of the site and commercial use to the south.

Access to the commercial units will be via a new left in / left out junction with the A38 southbound. The site will seeA 93,000 sq. m. of warehousing, distribution and general industrial units.
