Stoke-on-Trent City Council are planning to overhaul a large plot of disused land in Chatterley Valley - sandwiched between the A500 and Tunstall - in a project that would generate much needed, high quality smaller units.
Planning has been approved for nine new units split into three blocks with preconstruction work to begin in summer 2020 and teh main construction work due to start in October2020. The units will vary in size from circa 2,220sqft. to 5,230sqft. The unit sizes would see them capable of housing research and development, light and general industrial and storage and distribution companies and be an ideal stepping stone for growing businesses. These units will be available from June 2021 and businesses are urged to register their interest.
The city council - which owns the land - says market research has a revealed a demand in the Potteries for small to medium-sized units, particularly for start-up and 'step-up' firms.
The site itself, accessed from Innovation Way, via Chatterley Road, sits within a predominantly industrial area, near to JCB World Logistics. It is also adjacent to the North Staffordshire Business Park, within the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone.
